Jeff's birthday
Today is Jeff's 31st birthday! I can remember every detail of the birthing room, the delivery room and Mort at my side. The other men were doctors but looked liked kids and with his mask on, everyone thought Mort was the chief md. After a long labor (we were sent back to NJ once by train, and as soon as I got home we had to go back to NY). Jeff was born at Beth Israel, all 5lbs. of him in fetal distress. I screamed get me the top ped.md. because being a nurse I thought the worst. The following day, DR.Wallach, chief of obstetrics apologized to me and said he was post mature and had lost weight in uterio. All his skin was sagging with the lack of fat ( you lose weight when you are post mature because the placenta stops feeding the baby). But my first born just shy of me 36th birthday was healthy and free at last. I write this story for prosterity and I hope you Jeff reads it one day so Happy Birthday to you Jeff and Happy birthing day to me! We had a little party for him last night and he has the nicest friends. tonight, the three of them will come over and finish his birthday pies!

Hello all!
Welcome to my third life!
We took a flight with Kelli from Newark, NJ to Portland, Oregon and because of dog problems we bought a car and drove with a GPS of which we didn’t know how to use to Missoula. That GPS added an extra two hours to our driving adventure to Missoula, Montana.
I, who conceived a baby of 35, never thought I’d live to see a grandchild. It is the most awesome experience for me to see a baby that is a part of Mort and my union. My first grandchild is a sweet baby girl named Eliana Celie Kessler and she stated her life journey on July 16, 2007 at 6pm. Jeff (teacher) had the summer off so they were together from beginning to end. Gillian is a natural earth mother. She started her labor and decided to go for a hike and after a few hours with Jeff in the forest, he with his timer in hand, continued for about four hours, they went to the birthing center. Gillian is a natural earth mother, a warrior who danced her baby into the world. The midwife said they had never seen anything like it. . Gillie describes the birthing process, as “the baby came out like a bullet” and Jeff gave her, her first bath.
Fortunately because of their professions, (teachers) they were together from beginning to end.
Jeffrey carries the baby like a football and he is so in love with her that I think he is going to cry with pure joy when he looks at her.
Jeff found us a former forest service cabin house that was moved to the side of a hill. It has all the character and charm that one can expect of the west. The view from the wrap around deck is looking at Mt Jumbo and Mt Sentinel. When the sun sets the mountains turn to gold and red.
It took about two weeks to settle my spastic self down. Mort and I are very comfortable. One day Mort went to the Saturday open air market, and after perusing the Vietnamese farmers and their wares, he found a young man with a massage chair. Even though he had dread locks to his waist, Mort approached him and had a sixteen minute massage. Of course I jumped on this opportunity and the next day followed up with a 90 minute massage up at the house. Complete bliss!
Gillian’s dad, Dr. Don Thomas and his wife Mary came from missionary work in Africa to see his special daughter’s creation. They christened our house with guests. We are looking forward to your visits in the future. You know how we love guests!
Now Kelli whose been traveling cross country twice in August has arrived. She gets to spend a week with us. Jack will be coming this weekend to spend Labor Day weekend with us.
One of the first things Kelli and I did was on the way back from the stores and lunch we had a Celtic ruin stone reading from this Shaman woman originally from Rhode Island. She has studied with the Native American tradition. The first thing she said was wow!” You are in a major transition!” She gave me some tools to stay grounded and told me I need to give myself 5 minutes a day just for ME! Good news.
Today at 4pm, Mort is going to get a reading from her also. Only Kelli could convince him! Overall we are doing well as a family and until further happenings; I will end my story for now. Wishing you all Health and Peace,
I remain lovingly,
Roseann
